FIRST AID FOR SEPARATING PARENTS
Course Summary
This is an introductory course inviting delegates to reflect upon how they can engage with parents who are facing separation and develop the insight and skills to help clients to deliver what their children need from them as a family changes its shape.
Who is this course for / Who should attend?
This course is for solicitors and mediators under 5 years qualification or any practitioner wanting to refresh their skill set when supporting their clients, who are parents, to make thoughtful and effective child focused plans for their children during family transition and beyond.

The course will focus on:
how to educate parents about the emotional journey for members of their family;
providing information for parents about how children of different ages react to separation/divorce;
how to make suggestions to parents about how they can communicate with and support their children at this testing time;
how to assist parents to create a parenting plan for their separating family;
By the end of the course you will be able to
Deliver useful and supportive information to parents from the outset of their separation;
Have a the confidence to educate parents about relevant separation issues and parenting planning that will make a tangible difference to them and their children;
Make a real difference to the lives of children who can benefit for the learning you share with their parents;
