Course Summary
The course presents and describes the key psychological processes that occur between clients and professionals during divorce and separation. The course includes case studies and would incorporate any case material volunteered by participants.
Speaker - Avi Shumeli
After qualifying as a clinical psychologist and working in the NHS (Adult Psychiatry and Psychology) for a number of years, Avi moved to Tavistock Relationships where he qualified as a Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and worked as a staff member for 10 years. During this time, he also completed his PhD at University College London and trained and qualified as a Psychoanalyst.
Subsequently Avi ran the MSc in Psychoanalytic Development Psychology at the Anna Freud Centre before moving into full time private practice. At present he also supervises the work of the Divorce and Separation Consultation Service at Tavistock Relationships and is an assessor on the MSc in Psychoanalytic Theory at University College London.
