PARENTING COORDINATION ROADSHOW
EVENT SUMMARY
FLiP Faculty are introducing this new service into the UK and the first full training course will be starting in the autumn of 2017. The roadshows being held across the UK in June are part of our efforts to build awareness of Parenting Coordination as a service and to allow the family law community in the UK to understand the potential benefits for them and their clients.
To assist in this we will be joined a colleague from Canada (Jared Norton) who will be able to give his first hand experiences of how the service works in that jurisdiction.
Who is this training relevant for / Who should attend?
This free event is suitable for all those with a potential interest in this new service.
EVENT INFORMATION
What is Parenting Coordination?
Parenting coordination is a child-focused dispute resolution process designed to assist high conflict families in implementing parenting agreements and child arrangements. The Parenting Coordinator (or ‘PC’) will facilitate the resolution of disputes in a timely matter, educating parents about children’s needs, assisting them to reach consensus on parenting decisions where possible and, with the prior agreement of the parties, making decisions on disputes within the scope of their appointment. The process is designed to minimise the levels of conflict to which the child is exposed and assist the parents to find new ways of co-parenting their child going forward.
